Nespresso x Stefan Kunz | Artist Portrait

Commercial Campaign | Circular Economy & Design

The Project

A vibrant campaign produced for Nespresso, in collaboration with the agency Bader Création, featuring the renowned Zurich-based typographic artist Stefan Kunz. The project highlights a unique circular initiative: the creation of a limited edition set including sketchbooks made from recycled coffee grounds and Caran d’Ache graphite pencils with lead also derived from recycled coffee grounds.

The Vision

The goal was to document the creative encounter between tradition and sustainability. By following Stefan Kunz in his process, the film captures the tactile relationship between the artist, the recycled materials, and the final artwork. I focused on a high-color, dynamic aesthetic to reflect Stefan's energy and the innovative nature of this eco-responsible collaboration between three major Swiss icons.

Technical Fun Fact:

To give the film a unique visual signature, we used analog back-projection. We projected Stefan’s original "lettering" and typographic patterns directly onto physical surfaces and walls during the shoot. This technique created a natural interaction between the light, the artist, and his work, avoiding a purely digital feel and grounding the campaign in a more tactile, "hand-crafted" reality.

The Craft:

Artist Portraiture: Creating an intimate yet professional look into the world of one of Switzerland's most reputable typographers.

Process Documentation: Showcasing the transformation of coffee waste into high-end creative tools (Caran d’Ache & Nespresso).

Cinematic Branding: Balancing the clean, premium codes of Nespresso with the raw, hands-on creativity of a design studio.

Production: Produced by Imaginastudio (Lausanne).
