Ensemble Vocal de Lausanne (EVL) | Identity Film
Brand Narrative | Artistic Performance
The Project
A cinematic deep dive into the soul of the Ensemble Vocal de Lausanne, one of Switzerland's most prestigious vocal institutions. The goal was to redefine their image: moving beyond the formal stage to reveal the individual artists behind the collective harmony. The film captures their energy, their technical mastery, and their deep-rooted connection to the city of Lausanne and its iconic Cathedral.
The Concept
I opted for a "guerrilla" aesthetic to showcase the choir’s versatility and boldness. By filming raw, unexpected vocal tests and performances in public spaces, the film highlights a "decalé" (offbeat) and modern energy. It portrays the EVL not just as a guardian of classical heritage, but as a dynamic, young, and world-oriented group of independent artists who aren't afraid to push the boundaries of their craft.
The Craft:
Urban Integration: Blending the grandeur of the Lausanne Cathedral with the spontaneous, gritty reality of the city streets.
Human Texture: Focusing on the proximity and chemistry between singers to evoke an emotional "emulsion."
Directing Performance: Capturing the raw power of the human voice in unconventional environments.
Production: Produced by Imaginastudio (Lausanne).
