CGN | 150 Years of History
Anniversary Campaign | Motion Control & Studio Production
The Project To celebrate the 150th anniversary of the CGN (Compagnie Générale de Navigation), we created a poetic, time-traveling narrative. The film captures the essence of a century and a half of navigation on Lake Geneva through a seamless transition across different eras, evoking a deep sense of romanticism and heritage.
The Challenge This ambitious shoot relied on a high-precision Motion Control setup. We filmed at a constant camera speed to allow for perfect synchronization between different eras. Each set was entirely built in-studio, requiring meticulous planning to ensure the transitions felt fluid and organic.
The Craft:
Technical Mastery: Utilization of Motion Control to achieve a "time-lapse" effect through the decades while maintaining a singular, continuous movement.
Studio Craftsmanship: Full-scale set construction, blending physical craftsmanship with high-end visual effects.
Seamless Compositing: Advanced post-production to merge the studio footage with the motion of the fleet on the water.
Production: Produced by Imaginastudio (Lausanne).
