Uncanny Below | A 132-Second Deep Dive
Synopsis
An urban horror exploration inspired by the myths of subterranean New York. Gliding through forgotten tunnels, the camera’s omniscient eye gradually merges with the perspective of the creatures lurking in the dark, blurring the line between witness and monster before resurfacing into an indifferent city.
Director's Note
Uncanny Below is an homage to the psychological tension and decaying textures of Adrian Lyne’s Jacob’s Ladder and Guillermo del Toro’s Mimic.
The film was built using a full production pipeline: from hand-drawn storyboards and Premiere Pro animatics to a sophisticated compositing stage. Using AI was not about "the wow effect," but about materializing impossible camera movements and a specific cinematic universe that avoids clichés. Each frame was treated as live-action footage—layered, tracked, and textured to feel tangible.
